**About this role**

We are recruiting for a **Lighting Specialist** to join our Electrical Projects team based in our Burnaby office.

The Lighting Specialist will act as an internal lighting and lighting controls consultant, who will recommend what products we should install with respect to quality and price.

Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

**Your responsibilities**
- Design, coordination and re-design of lighting
- Review of bills of materials ensure that all lighting and lighting controls have been correctly covered in our estimates and projects
- Recommend the best ways to resolve on-site problems and supplier bill of material conflicts
- Provide value engineering advice, negotiate prices with manufacturer's representatives, and wholesalers
- Liaison with lighting manufacturers, manufacturer's representatives, and consultants.
- Compile and lighting cut sheets for proposals
- Review lighting purchase orders and submittal packages

**Your experience and skills**
- 5+ years of experience working as a manufacturer's representative, lighting designer or lighting quotations specialist for a wholesaler
- Experience calling on consultants and providing lighting design assistance
- Familiarity and skill with lighting design software (ex. AGi 32)
- Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications
- Courses/Education related to lighting design and lighting certifications are a strong asset
