**Position Summary**

This hybrid position requires a People First individual that finds success through collaboration and an input-oriented improvement process. They will assist in the oversight and maintenance of compliance with all occupational health and safety, environmental, and other relevant standards at our manufacturing facility. They will collaborate and assist with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining the occupational health, safety, environmental & training programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for co-workers. This process includes keeping up to date with all standards, training procedures, relating standards to co-workers and management, and deciding when and how we are affected by a standard. Assures that Cambridge Brass complies with applicable federal, provincial, & municipal health, safety and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. Additionally, this individual will develop and implement formal training programs. This role will be responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum, and delivering courses that the workforce needs to allow the company to move forward toward accomplishing its strategic goals and objectives.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Oversee the required EHS and compliance documentation for the facility
- Conduct periodic audits of EHS site documentation
- Conduct waste sampling, if necessary, at various sites
- Conduct EHS training to managers and co-workers as necessary to ensure compliance with internal procedures and all regulatory agencies
- Work with supervisors to help them better understand their role in safety. This includes how to look at the work and those doing the work to remove unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors. Work closely with them on our policies and procedures, supervisors should be the go-to person for everyone who reports to them, so that safety related information is right there for them.
- Oversee, track to completion, corrective actions derived from audits, risk assessments or internal audits to ensure completion
- Ensure EHS is a big part of the new co-worker safety orientations. Teach new people the importance and values safety are as part of our company.
- Follow up on training with new and existing coworkers incrementally as required.
- Conduct direct safety training and shop talks around safety initiatives to ensure all coworkers understand the initiative and training needed to work safely, including one on one training at the coworkers’ workstation.
- Support and enhance the site’s safety committees to grow, change and become actively part of the safety culture at Cambridge Brass
- Assist with risk management objectives
- Assist in the creation of thorough, accurate and applicable EHS procedures
- Support and enhance the safety culture of the company via co-worker interaction and promoting safety as the number one importance of the company
- Coordinate training schedules and evaluate applicable outside training resources.
- Consult with managers and supervisors to determine training needs and develop programs to match these needs.
- Monitor annual and long-range departmental training programs.
- Develop and maintain appropriate training programs to properly onboard and train employees hired into the factory, foundry, and maintenance and shipping areas at Cambridge Brass.
- Work in conjunction with operations, management, quality, and engineering to build training programs that properly prepare production employees to work in all job classifications.
- Develop training programs and courses that properly “train the trainers” to teach employees how to properly mentor, train, and coach new hires.
- Provide appropriate updates and reports to the management team as necessary
- Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position or as assigned

**Qualifications and Experience**
- College Diploma or University Degree in a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building qualities.
- Highly motivated self starter
- Excellent time management skills; proficient at organizing and managing priorities and/or projects by using appropriate methodologies and tools
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present information, influence others and build credibly effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to learn, understand and perform industrial hygiene monitoring and activities as directed
- Ability to work extended hours and/or any of the 3 shifts for training, consultation, industrial hygiene monitoring and accident investigation
