**ABOUT ROAST**

ROAST is an upscale butcher and fine foods shop located at 786 St. Clair Avenue West, in the Hillcrest neighborhood. Since December 2013, customers have enjoyed an immaculate display of high-quality meats, farm dairy, Blackbird Bakery breads and other fine food products, along with an array of deliciously prepared meals cooked by our in-house chef.

**CANDIDATE OVERVIEW**

As a customer-service professional, you excel at building relationships with people and learning the benefits of your product. You deliver exceptional customer service in all that you do. With a positive personality, you are at ease working with others and feel comfortable in a busy, full-service environment. You are detailed-oriented, flexible and can work well shifting priorities as needed.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage and serve customers with the highest regard for exceptional service
- Work cooperatively with back of house staff for efficiency in operations
- Participate in staff training
- Ensure consistent product rotation
- Maintain cleanliness, meeting health and safety requirements

**TIME REQUIREMENTS**
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required
- Must be available to work additional hours during peak holiday periods
- Part-time available (20-35 hours per week)
- Full-time available (40-44 hours per week)

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Skills/Knowledge
- A strong communicator, can build relationships with customers
- Displays integrity making decisions for the best interest of the organization
- An ability to shift priorities as needed
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of food retail best practices, an asset

Education
- Any degree, diploma, or certificate related to cooking, food or retail, an asset
- Food Handler’s certification, an asset

**COMPENSATION**

Starting rate of pay is based on level of experience. Increases in pay are determined by degree of progress in training, level of skills, increases in responsibility, and overall motivation and positivity toward learning. Permanent employees are offered health benefits and paid personal days once they meet eligibility requirements. Roast provides a daily staff meal prepared by our in-house chef on most days. All employees are also eligible for staff discounts.

Pay: $17.20-$25.22 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 44 per week
