**ABOUT THE ROLE**
We are currently accepting resumes from **_dedicated_**_ _and **_energetic_** individuals who are looking for a challenging and rewarding career as a **Payroll Clerk **in Edmonton, AB.
Reporting to the Human Resources & Payroll Manager, the Payroll Clerk is responsible for administering and processing payroll and benefits for the Calmont Group of Companies. Some of the key job duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for benefit enrollments, terminations, changes for the Calmont Group of Companies.
- Administering and maintaining employee files and maintenance of the Payroll/HRIS data base, ensuring files are complete.
- Respond to employee and management inquiries by researching and resolving payroll and benefit related issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare various pay period, monthly, quarterly and annual reports regarding hours worked, turnover, leave and attendance, etc.
- Prepare and submit T4’s, ROE’s, payroll surveys
- Maintain compliance with Provincial and Federal employment law and identify regulations affecting the payroll function.
- Build relationships with remote branches to ensure timey and accurate payroll and benefit reporting is captured.
- Some travel may be required to support branch processes and respond to ongoing inquiries from branch locations.
- Participates in maintaining and developing payroll policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
**DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years increasingly responsible payroll administration experience with complexities such as multiple provinces and remote locations.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to maintain confidential information; deal with people sensitively and professionally at all times
- Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines
