The Glencoe Golf & Country Club is offering a seasonal Horticulture Intern position for the upcoming 2025 Golf Season. We are seeking a positive and energetic individual who enjoys working early mornings, being outdoors, and who works well in a dynamic and team-oriented environment. As a Horticulture Intern you demonstrate strong leadership skills, are self-motivated, hardworking, positive minded and adaptable.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Horticulturalist with daily planning and equipment set up to help achieve club standards that are consistent with member expectations and evolving trends
- Provide support in the ongoing development of food production including performing Integrated Pest Management, successional planting and harvesting
- Perform plant health monitoring including observing disease and pest pressure and assessing environmental and abiotic impacts
- Participate in assisting the Horticulturalist/Turfcare Management in implementation and streamlining of best management practices
- Operate equipment, including a watering truck and various machinery with safety and efficiency, while also providing training to team members on proper equipment use
- Communicate and collaborate effectively while displaying professionalism between team members, departments and members
- Ensures compliance with all Glencoe Health & Safety standards & Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations

**Qualifications**:

- Must be enrolled in an applicable post-secondary program, including the Horticulture Technologist Diploma, Prairie Horticulture Certificate or Landscape Horticulture Apprenticeship
- Must have a positive attitude, have a willingness to learn new skills and methods and provide training to new team members
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment, maintaining quality while working effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks including raking, weeding, shoveling and walking
- Must be comfortable lifting heavy supplies weighing up to 40lbs and performing the duties of the position throughout the shift, including in inclement weather
- **A valid Driver’s License** **and access to reliable transportation as there is no public transportation available to our location**

**Additional Details**:
This is a seasonal full-time position that reports to the Horticulturalist. Shifts vary from early morning to evenings throughout the week and weekend, so a flexible schedule is required.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace certification prior to commencing employment.
