Quality Assurance Technician (9 month full time temporary employment with possible extension):
A family owned and operated business looking for a new team member. We are located in Toronto near Stockyards and Junction and manufacture specialty cheeses. The role at International Cheese Co. Ltd. in Toronto, ON will include tasks such as maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality Management system in place at the facility. The position will allow for assistance in daily quality control measures and consumer issues that may arise. This will be an in-person job opportunity and will require commute to location daily.
We are looking for a new staff member to join our team, job responsibilities will include the following:
- Conduct routine pre-operational and operational inspection duties to assure compliance to sanitation standard
- Perform chemical and microbiological testing of dairy products
- Conduct product testing and environmental swabbing
- Perform line checks
- Produce reports and computer data entry of various information for the purpose of maintaining accurate records
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Microbiology or Food Science
- Knowledge of microbiological procedures chemistry techniques
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, allergens, and food security
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and problem solving skills
- Proficient computer abilities using Word & Excel
- Ability to follow directions, effective team communication skills
Working Environment: General office and lab conditions, with frequent periods spent in manufacturing facility.
**Job Types**: One Year Full-Time Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
