**Human Resources Manager**
**Position Summary**
Camphill Communities Ontario (CCO) is a non-profit charitable organization that provides opportunities and support for people living with an intellectual disability looking for a **Human Resources Manager (HR Manager). **The HR Manager will play a pivotal role in nurturing a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving workplace.
Reporting to the Director of Administration, the HR Manager is a member of the Leadership Team and will assist in planning, developing, supervising, implementing, and monitoring activities related to recruitment & retention, employee lifecycle, benefits structure, DEI initiatives, health & safety, wellness initiatives, conflicts resolution and employee/employer relations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- In partnership with senior leadership, develop and deliver workforce planning strategies to ensure the appropriate level and skill mix of people are in place to effectively deliver quality services
- Oversees the HR team to plan and organize recruitment, retention and wellness activities for all staff, volunteers and students.
- Design and develop recruitment and retention strategies to well position CCO and support its future growth and complexities.
- Develops, implements, and monitors human resources and health and safety-related policies and procedures to ensure legislation compliance (ESA 2000, WSIA, Human Rights Code, Pay Equity Act and other relevant government legislations).
- Oversee the transformation of HR services with a focus on outcomes, through simple, clear and effective policies, processes and systems.
- Promote and champion organizational diversity, equity, inclusion and belongingness strategies
- Oversee the design and continuous improvement of performance management programs including job evaluation, compensation, benefits and performance reviews.
- Research, recommend, and collaborate on best practice wellness initiatives across the organization.
- Provides coaching, encouragement and mentorship to leaders as well as emerging leaders in the organization on people management and leadership with a focus on performance management, organizational development & effectiveness, and leadership effectiveness.
- Provide oversight and guidance in the development of learning opportunities for all CCO employees
- Responsible for ensuring that accurate personnel files and related documentation are maintained.
**Education, Skills, and Experience**:
**Education and Experience**:
- Post-secondary education in an HR-related discipline or equivalent level of advanced education combined with demonstrated leadership experience
- Current registration as a member in good standing with the Human Resources Professional Association
- A minimum of five years related human resources management experience within the non-profit or social services field, with at least two years in a Leadership role is preferred
- Experience in working in a range of internal and external committees related to human resources with a mind to enhance services, raise the profile of the agency, and build collaborative relationships in support of the agency’s mandate
- Experience in conducting investigations, including workplace violence and dispute resolution
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- Requires knowledge of theories, principles, methods, work practices, and requirements for - the Ministry of Labour, Skills, and Development - Occupational Health & Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, and other related legislation, to direct the Occupational Health and Safety Program
- Proven knowledge and experience in Attendance Management programs, including disability management and developing/implementing RTW/accommodation plans for occupational and non-occupational absences
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs
- Exceptional communication ability and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, including a high level of confidentiality
- Proven ability to lead and develop employees and teams
- Proven effective leadership of diverse teams and leveraging of diversity.
- A proven track record of gaining and sustaining credibility and trust with staff
- A personal commitment to and track record of championing inclusion and equity
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize and meet required deadlines while contending with competing demands.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Responsive and flexible to evolving responsibilities and able to take initiative while maintaining a positive approach.
- Experience utilizing HRIS and scheduling systems and ability to learn and work with new online systems and technologies.
- Full G license with the ability to travel between locations when required
- Current CPR/First aid
- Current Criminal Reference Check, Vulnerable Sector Screening required
