**Pay Rate**: $71,337.00 - $96,375.00 per year as per the collective agreement

Salary step would be determined based on previous experience

**Schedule**: 10 Months/year (September - June); 35 hours per week

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our clinical services team.

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Special Education Manager of Speech-Language Pathology Services, the Speech-Language Pathologist will work primarily in a variety of elementary and secondary schools within a defined geographic region.

**Responsibilities will include**:
Providing student-specific assessment, consultation, preventative and interventive services to support a caseload of students with a wide range of communication delays or disorders, including students who range from nonverbal to highly verbal

Engaging in in the provision of professional development and supports related to whole class, small group and individual learning

Providing consultative/collaborative support to educational staff, students and parents

Collaborating with educators and students in specialized language programs/classrooms

Collaborating with educators to support early literacy programs

Participating in multi-disciplinary teams/committees and School Resource Team meetings

Providing clinical direction to Communicative Disorders Assistants

Independently maintaining and managing a caseload across a number of schools, obtaining informed consent from parents/guardians/students, maintaining appropriate, confidential records, and providing timely reports

Consulting/collaborating with administrators and teachers on school-based supports, providing recommendations for programming and making referrals, as appropriate, for other services to support students

**Minimum Qualifications**:
A Master’s degree from an accredited University

Current registration in the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)

Strong interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills

Flexibility, patience, tolerance, enthusiasm, creativity and team-oriented

Experience working with children with receptive and expressive language and early literacy delays

Experience supporting children with significant communication delays/disorders and/or neurodevelopmental delays.disorders including students on the Autism Spectrum.

Strong computer skills

A commitment to ongoing learning

Excellent judgment, organizational and time management skills

Authentic, resilient, dependable, reliable and have the ability to problem solve effectively

Adherence to a high level of professional and ethical standards

Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Demonstration of knowledge of current evidence-based practices in Speech-Language Pathology

At least one year of experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist

Reliable transportation and the ability to work at a variety of locations throughout the day

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience working in a School Board setting

Experience in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)

Familiarity with assistive technology

Experience supporting individuals from a variety of lived experiences (socio-economic, cultural, etc.,)

Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group

Broad understanding of and an inclusive approach to relationship building with diverse stakeholders in the community and in schools

Experience and/or interest in providing clinical skills training to post-secondary students

Experience implementing and/or familiarity with Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking curriculum or similar social communication methodologies

**Appointments are conditional upon**:
Provision of an original copy of a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening dated within 6 months

Agreement to comply with the Board’s policies, procedures and code of conduct
