**Who We Are?**

We are a 100% Canadian food manufacturer with 80 years of experience in the sauce and condiment space. We manufacture a wide variety of BBQ sauces, mayonnaises, mustards, salsas, salad dressings, gravies and specialty sauces and condiments.

**The Opportunity**

This is a 6-month contract opportunity in-office opportunity which can be full-time after 6 months based upon performance.

**Essential Functions**

Situated at Select 120 Sunrise and be responsible for monitoring production requirements, raising purchase orders to meeting production needs, ensure orders are delivered in time for production, and build supplier relationships. Oversee Packaging and Raw Purchaser activities and assist with any supplier delays or quality issues that may arise, attend Purchasing and internal customer related meetings.
- Functional knowledge of an ERP required, preferably SAGE and Sage Inventory Advisor.
- Identify and resolve problems which create inventory inaccuracies.
- Place Purchase Orders (PO’s) with suppliers and manage inbound freight on deliveries for which Select is coordinating transportation.
- Expedite inbound materials as needed by the business.
- Optimize economic order quantities, & freight costs with warehouse space constraints and material age out risks
- Identify and recommend write downs / best disposal of obsolete materials with QA and Inventory Manager.
- Control documentation from vendors to meet all SQF and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and keep accurate all set points in SAGE for items purchased including (but not limited to) lead time, minimum order quantity (MOQ), and pricing.
- Return all non-conforming materials for credit or replacement according to Select’s NCR process, oversee to completion including disposal / return of material, credit from vendor, vendor response to our SQF requirement of root cause / corrective action.
- Participate in semi-annual physical inventory counts.
- Track current market trends and evaluate how they may impact purchasing demands with regards to Production forecasts.
- Assist in dual sourcing suppliers for required items.

**Basic Education, Experience and Training Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college.
- Experience in food manufacturing purchasing.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Analytical and mathematical capabilities to compare prices and quantities, and access market conditions.
- Multi-tasking and task prioritization skills essential.
- 3 + years of experience in a purchasing role.

**Health and Safety**
- Conduct all Job Tasks in a Safe and Responsible manner
- Participate in applicable Health and Safety trainings
- Report any accidents, incidents, and unsafe/hazardous conditions to your lead hand/ supervisor immediately
- Report any damages of property and machinery to your lead hand /supervisor
- Ensure that you understand how and when to use the Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) that is in your work area
- Ensure you comply with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and/ or laws that govern “workers” responsibilities in the workplace (covered during orientation - section 28 of the OHSA i.e., “Green Book”) and Comply with Select Food Products. Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP Programs

**Food Safety**
- Conduct all Job Tasks following company’s GMP policy
- Participate in all GMP and other applicable food safety trainings and meetings
- Report any food safety related accidents, incidents, and hazardous conditions to your lead hand/ supervisor immediately
- As assigned, lead and/ or support company’s food safety culture

**Physical Demand**
- May be required to stand/ sit/ walk for long periods of time
- May be required to engage in bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing
- Due to the environment, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions which include extreme heat, humidity and cold
- Able to lift objects up to 25 kg or 50 lbs.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
