General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The position will cover a variety of tasks to support the production goals of New Hamburg. The transportation side of the position will require local transfers of finished goods and raw materials between the New Hamburg plant site and off-site warehouse space. Additional responsibilities for transportation will include the pick-up of raw materials and containers from suppliers in Southern Ontario and the loading of site water for transportation and unloading at local farms. The delivery of finished goods to customers during seasonal peak periods requires a person willing to be flexible with work hours.

The maintenance position requires a person with sound knowledge of gas and diesel engines to support minor repairs to the Nachurs Alpine fleet of vehicles. The position requires support to maintenance activities as directed by the maintenance supervisor for pump repairs, piping replacements, process equipment repairs and hydraulic systems.

The person must have a keen sense of safety awareness and be supportive of the existing plant safety systems to create a productive safety culture.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

- Transfer finished goods and raw materials from plant site to warehouse location.
- Complete scheduled pick-ups of raw materials, supplies and empty product containers from suppliers.
- Deliver finished goods products to agricultural and industrial customers as requested during seasonal peak hours.
- Learns and performs general maintenance and repair duties on a variety of equipment, machines and facility systems.
- Operates hand and power tools and mechanical equipment effectively and safely complies with safety requirements including use of appropriate PPE.
- Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Maintain high level of shop housekeeping duties and organize spare parts when requested.
- Perform outside work while experiencing challenging weather elements
- Participate in scheduled safety training as requested.
- Complete equipment inspections and safety checklist to identify safety concerns and potential mechanical issues with equipment reliability.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and to change work direction as directed by supervision.
- Follow site Lock Out and Tag Out procedures.
- Ability to work at heights with fall restraint harness and secure Working at Heights Certification.
- Ability to wear Air Purifying Respirator (APR) as required by job PPE requirements.
- Operation of plant equipment including forklifts, telescopic handlers, and elevated work platforms (EWP) to transport materials, move rail cars into position, complete snow removal and access elevate work areas.

Compensation and Benefits:

- In compliance with all provincial regulations requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $20.91 - $27.84. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
