Shunt Driver

Brantford, Canada Johnson Transportation Full time

Shunt driver needed to operate a 10 speed day cab on the private property of a local manufacturer (no on road driving).

Full-time position 8.5hrs Monday to Friday with 6:30am start time.

Shunt driver duties will include:

- Daily yard checks of available trailers
- Daily vehicle inspection
- Moving commerical trailers/containers from the yard to the loading docks in a safe manner
- Communication with shipping department via Teams Messanger app
- Keeping a log of daily activities

Position pays to start on biweekly pay-roll $19/hr with a raise after 3 months. Open to paying as a contractor with HST if interested.

*It is required that you know how to operate a manual 10 day cab and can safely back trailers into loading dock and place trailers safely in the yard.

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Required to follow all COVID-19 requirements of the manufacturer and conform to the safety standards.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brantford, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Truck driving: 1 year (preferred)
