**Wanted: Medical Office Assistant for a busy, fast-paced, Southside Medical Clinic**
We are a very busy medical clinic located on the Southside. Currently seeking an experienced medical office assistant/receptionist. We are looking for someone that is able to work both individually and as a team player and is of a friendly, professional, and capable. This is a fast-paced, with varying responsibilities day to day and the applicant _must_be able to multi-task effectively.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Schedule**:
- Hours will vary per shift (4 - 7.5 hours per shift)
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
**Work remotely**:
- No
**Education**:
- Medical Office Assistant Diploma/Certificate (preferred)
- Proficiency in medical terminology is an asset
**Experience**:
- Medical office experience: 2 years (preferred)
- Experienced with Netcare
- Problem solving skills
- Must be able to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information Act

**Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:
- Welcoming and checking in patients
- Answering phone calls
- Scheduling clinic appointments
Receiving / sending faxes
- Pulling/putting away charts
- Taking detailed messages and triaging
- Coordinating referrals and Facilitate outgoing referrals
- Setting up and assisting with minor medical procedures including PAPs, pelvic examinations/IUD’s
- Maintaining health record file systems and preparing patient files
- Documenting in charts
- Patient correspondence between MOA and doctors, sending and receiving patient documents
- Book outside appointments for patients (imaging etc.) as requested by the doctor.
- Create and edit patient charts
- Assist physicians with various tasks
- Weekly laundry
- Restocking exam rooms
- Ensure waiting room is tidy
- Responding to patient enquiries in person and by phone
- Escorting patients to exam or treatment rooms and preparing patients for physician.
- Cleaning and preparing exam and treatment rooms between patient visits
- Performing diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician including urinalysis
- Performing temperature readings, height and weight measurements as ordered by the physician
- Scheduling and notifying patients of appointments
- Scanning patient documents into electronic medical records as required
- Opening mail, receiving faxes, and distributing as appropriate
- Performing other duties as assigned
