Reporting to the Senior Manager of Employee Services, the Manager of Wellness, People & Culture will oversee the development, administration and management of programs designed to promote employee wellness and manage disability cases effectively. As a leader in this department, you will play a vital role in fostering a culture of health and wellness across our schools and within the DSBN.
**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
Post-Secondary degree in a field related to Human Resources or Disability Management or combination of education and experience deemed equivalent by the Board.
Completion of an appropriate program and/or working towards credentials in the field of Ability/Disability Case Management (i.e., NIDMAR);
CHRL (Certified Human Resources Leader) designation, an asset.
Minimum of five (5) years' progressive experience in the field of Disability management, workplace accommodation, attendance management, or wellness.
Extensive knowledge of WSIB Policies and Procedures, Attendance Management, Adjudication Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA and any other relevant legislation
Supervisory experience.
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office Suite including experience with Outlook 365, Parklane and/or other Disability Management tracking tools.
Exceptional time management and organization skills
Outstanding communication and presentation capabilities
Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and tact.
Experience in an education setting is an asset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement policies and procedures for disability management and attendance support.
Liaise with external organizations such as the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and insurance providers to create cost-effective and comprehensive solutions.
Supervise staff and provide strategic direction for daily operations within the Wellness department.
Report on program performance to senior management and employee groups.
Review claims documentation and recommend next steps, including appeals.
Represent the Board at WSIB hearings and tribunals, where necessary.
Manage claims for senior management members.
Develop and support workplace accommodations.
Evaluate and enhance health promotion and absence management programs.
Identify disability trends and implement proactive wellness measures.
Build and maintain networks with healthcare providers and external resources.
Serve as a resource on disability management, workplace accommodation and return-to-work-programs.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
**Salary range**: $ 110,457 $ 129,761. Includes a competitive benefits plan through a provincial benefits trust plan (extended health, dental, live insurance, AD&D). Enrolment in OMERS pension plan. This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position and is part of the Board's union-exempt Administrative Management Group.
