Hold a Secondary School Diploma and an Attestation of College Studies in Early Childhood Education or a diploma and an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have four (4) years of pertinent experience. We prioritize a DEC in Early Childhood Education.

Hold a Secondary School Diploma and an Attestation of Vocational Studies in Day Care Services or a diploma and an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have five (5) years of pertinent experience.

AND

Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of:
1. a standard first aid course of a minimum eight (8) -hour duration.

2. a refresher course of a minimum six (6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in subparagraph 1.

**Other Requirements**:

- Bilingualism, written and oral
- Ability to multitask and capacity to prioritize successfully and rapidly
- Experience with monitoring inventories of daycare supplies, ordering as needed
- Team worker
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer skills, Excel, Word, Google Suites required
- Ability to plan and organize Pedagogical days
- Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Program would be an asset
- Ability to deal with emergency situations
- Punctual, able to complete tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to problem solve, adapt to change, and overcome obstacles
- Able to maintain confidentiality where required
- Able to reflect, self-evaluate and use constructive criticism

**Nature of the work**:
The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in assisting the day care service technician in setting up the program of activities and in carrying out certain administrative tasks.

The role also consists in organizing and coordinating the duties performed by members of a team composed mainly of day care service educators.

In addition, the employee carries out the characteristic functions of the class of employment of day care service educator.

**Daily Tasks/Dossiers**:

- Maintains close communication with daycare personnel and school secretary.
- Regular contact and communication with principal.
- Maintains daycare website (update relevant information).
- Ensures necessary equipment and material are accessible to staff.
- Maintains close communication with parent (change in parents schedule, etc.).
- Organize and plan a variety of activities for daycare (special events, outings on pedagogical days, etc.).
- Coordinate and supervise the work of educators (moving around at lunchtime and after school).
- Assist school administration in the management of financial resources (estimate of budgets, analyze data for revenue from enrolment grants and other operating expenses).
- Coordinate and lead a variety of activities for the benefit of daycare staff (professional enhancement days, staff meetings, use of technology, etc.).
- Connect with Daycare students and parents.
- Oversees K4 educators.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the main Daycare Technician.
- Checks phone messages.
- Ensures adequate staffing daily for lunch and daycare.
