**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Manager, Programs and Services, Seniors Services, the Meals on Wheels Worker
- Canada Summer Jobs is responsible for learning and assisting with all aspects of the daily running of the Meals on Wheels Program and other food access programs.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Respond to client concerns, issues or requests and follow-up and monitor as necessary.
- Prepare and print daily route and order sheets for meal providers.
- Liaise with meal providers.
- Collaborate with volunteers and/or peer workers to achieve departmental goals.
- Data entry including updating client files in database.
- Provide support with the delivery of meals when necessary.
- Provide support with shopping and food preparation for the Agency.
- Projects as determined by supervisor or manager.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Canada Summer Jobs Requirements**
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**Qualifications**
- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, post-secondary education in Social Work or another related program.
- Knowledge and understanding of working with seniors and adults with a disability or illness.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to accept supervision and seek counsel.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and database management.
- Dependable, punctual and flexible.
- Second language an asset.
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
- Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
