Your role at Clorox:
The Process Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement within our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for analyzing and enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), leading key initiatives under the continuous improvement framework, and providing technical expertise to plant shift teams.
In this role, you will:
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive OEE improvement results by analysing monthly data results and create and execute action plans that address the key losses
- Provide technical expertise and act as a troubleshooting resource to the Plant Shift Teams. First line of response in case of downtime and defines if maintenance is required
- Lead the ongoing development and training of the site operations shift resources, through structured and documented processes (SOJT)
- Owns the Operational Readiness for projects in their towers / Assigned start-up leader
- Complete theory of operations training for each extrusion tower to the Plant Shift Teams
- Develop and train trouble shooting guides where necessary
- Lead Continuous Improvement activities that fall under the GME (previously World Class Manufacturing) framework, including: Zero-Effort Changeovers, Autonomous Maintenance, Kaizen events, SMED, Centerline development, Improvement Methods, Reliability Improvement Plans, etc.
- Use of Loss Elimination methodology to troubleshoot, via RFI or FI
- Coach lead operators on the use of RFI as key tool for troubleshooting
- Maintain process capabilities/rates and maintenance activities
- Support the site Quality strategy, including documenting and maintaining process capability for product specifications
- Develop a team concept within the Process Specialist group, focussed on standard ways of work and supporting each other to achieve OEE, quality and safety results
- Leverage key learning across Clorox network
- Serves as functional lead for process optimization using statistical data, including performing design of experiments on the production line and the development of functional process control models.
- Perform studies on measurement systems to ensure proper calibration protocols are in place and actions are taken when calibration systems fail
- Monitor products and processes for conformance to standards, assists in prompt and thorough investigation when product safety may be compromised and minimize the amount of nonstandard/held product
- Liaison between corporate R&D team and plant management to ensure efficient hand over of new product development and Product Optimization.
- Assist in initiation and implementation of the preparation of new or revised product specifications, process parameters, and procedures

What we look for:
- Proficient use of statistical methods
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools to be used on mechanical and processing issues
- Must have working knowledge of safety and sanitation principles and practices, computer systems, and production processes and equipment used in the manufacturing of plastics
- Prior experience in capital projects
- Advanced computer skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to foster positive working relationships
- Strong aptitude for numbers and analyzing information, attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- A self-starter with ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent problem solving and coaching abilities
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Basic Continual Improvement Training (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Project Management experience is an asset
- Previous SAP Experience Preferred
- Engineering background will be considered as an asset
