Cambridge, Canada GVF Group of Companies Full time

**Who we are**:
Founded in 1960, Grand Valley Fortifiers specializes in the formulation, manufacture and sale of high quality, leading-edge mineral premixes for swine, dairy, beef and poultry producers. We create opportunities for livestock & poultry farms to be more profitable by providing innovative products, programs and services which lower feeding and livestock producers costs, maximize animal performance, and increase nutritional and commercial value of our customers products; meat, milk and eggs.

In 1996, Farmers Depot was established within the GVF group of companies. Since then, Farmers Depot has grown to be a complete animal health and equipment supplier for livestock producers providing over two thousand quality animal health products at a competitive price with next day delivery, and product support.

*
W**hat you’ll do**:

- Create monthly shift and production run schedules ensuring time off is properly covered
- Approve clocked hours for your team in GVF’s payroll system, once a week
- Set daily and weekly priorities with your team and be flexible to personally fill in on areas that require extra support and coverage
- Play lead role for the team in deciding the most appropriate shipping methods and carriers to use for various types of customer orders
- Become an expert on all warehouse duties and give training and support to your team of pickers, shippers and material handlers
- Accurately pick customer orders from the warehouse shelves, pack them in accordance with Farmers Depot’s packing standards and prepare shipping labels and/or bill of ladings
- Actively stay on top of all the different shipping methods available to Farmers Depot and choose the most appropriate one for the order being packed and shipped
- Receive shipping containers/truck trailers at the dock, unload them, verify that the inventory being delivered meets the purchase order quantities and place the products onto the warehouse shelves in their specific locations
- Restock and replenish products on shelves ensuring that all shelves are sufficiently full, neatly faced and products are in the right location/bins
- Complete regular daily inventory cycle counts and occasionally larger inventory counts (full day)
- Daily, drive the company van prepared customer orders to our Main Street warehouse location and organize them for our internal GVF loaders and truck drivers to deliver to farms the next morning
- Occasionally use the company van to drive to supplier’s warehouse locations and pick up supplies and product inventory
- Be flexible to stay until work is completed (potentially beyond scheduled hours) when on the “truck run” shift
- As a team member, be ready to jump in where needed when other team members are on lunch, or taking time off, even if that means working on tasks that aren’t part of the day’s regular activities
- Operate the forklift within the warehouse for moving material and use it to unload trucks, trailers and sea containers
- As part of handling products, be able and willing to manually lift and maneuver products that weight 25 kgs - usually in jug form but also sometimes in bag form. Heavier products (e.g., 200kg drums of liquid) can be moved using a drum lifting tool attached to the forklift although some employees prefer to move them manually using a rolling technique
