**Line Cook**

We are currently looking for a **Line Cook**, to join our team at 1881 Steakhouse + Bar's first location in Saint Thomas, ON.

**Position Summary**:The Line Cook is responsible for preparing food to the chef's specifications and according to recipes and standard procedure. Line Cook duties and responsibilities include working with other team members, maintaining cleanliness and organization of station, and fulfilling customer expectations.

**Essential Functions**:The Line Cook can perform any of the following tasks: prep, cook, serve, inventory, or cleanup.
- Prepares food by following the prep list. Ensure that food is stored in correct containers or baskets according to storage guidelines.
- Maintains station by following procedures; checks for out-of-stock items; follows best-before dates; ensures product is not out of stock; keeps station clean by washing dishes; sweeping/mopping floors; sanitizes utensils; cleans service areas; cleans service cart doors; cleans dishwasher; mopping floors; sweeping/mopping floors.
- Stocks inventory by following procedures; keeps shelves clean and organized; checks inventory levels daily; restocks product when necessary.
- Coordinates servings by following procedures; delivering to tables where food is served; checking for out-of-stock items; following best-before dates; ensures product is not out of stock.
- Assists other team members as needed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: $17.50-$20.00 per hour

- Saint Thomas, ON N5P 1G4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (required)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Night Shift (preferred)

Work Location: In person
