**Job Description**:

( Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Under the supervision and direction of the Team Lead, Learning Solutions, the Content Editor is responsible for ensuring consistency of terminology, grammar, punctuation and writing style of publications for the Learning & Performance Support department. The Content Editor is also responsible for the creation of written and online information.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as English, communications, public relations or related discipline, and 5 years experience as a writer or editor in one or more communication disciplines (such as technical communications or public relations), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a high-performance team in a fast paced environment.
- High level of knowledge writing for different audiences and literacy levels.
- Ability to transform documents into clear, concise written material appropriate for the audience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with stakeholder and user groups, consisting of staff at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of fonts and formatting as it pertains to usability in design.
- Experience working in an e-Learning environment.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
