**JOB SUMMARY**:
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain professionalism and act in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles
- Follow all organizational Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of gaining knowledge and understanding
- Contribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Write, format, update and maintain all company Instruction Manuals, Installation sheets literature and documentation, documenting, recording and tracking all changes
- To support technical documentations use completed English manuals to create French and/or Spanish (if applicable) language versions by coordinating material, formatting language within platforms such as in Indesign, and uploading completed manuals onto Ignite/Regency websites.
- Manipulate engineering product drawings, create illustration diagrams for inclusion into manuals & instruction sheets to properly depict & describe each procedure or process
- Where required, supply draft versions of Product Manuals and other required documentation in a timely manner for product certification submissions to test agencies
- Where required, once Product Manuals have been reviewed, edited, finalize and release all required documents to Production & Purchasing
- Where required, create, maintain, translate and post on-line all related decals & stickers required for Production, including maintaining serial decal sequence numbers to serial number decals
- Where required, assign part numbers to manuals, instruction sheets and decals, and update BOM with numbers for ECN’s and system set-up
- Work with FPA (Australia) on technical documentation needed for certification of new products and modification to existing products for Australia and Canature when/if required
- Maintain Annual Spec Book by creating new product spec pages, and proofing existing specs to ensure they are up to date
- Work with R&D and Technical Services to observe installation and services procedures in order to gather product specifications, pictures, drawings, and illustrations for Instruction Manual layout in a clear& concise format
- Work with Technical Services to obtain an understanding of product functionality and end-user requirements
- Other related duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFICATIONS**:

- **Abilities/Skills/Knowledge**_
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is an asset
- Must be self-motivated, a self-starter, and a team player
- Good judgement and decision-making ability a must
- Excellent communication skills - both written & verbal
- Computer knowledge in a Windows environment required - must be proficient with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, CorelDraw, Photoshop. Familiar with Microsoft Office - Excel & Word, Adobe Acrobat, creating PDF files for web and print. Familiarity with digital cameras
- **Education/Training**_
- Post-Secondary education and technical training in computer systems
- **Experience**_
- Minimum 1-2 years of technical writing work experience
- Experience in an engineering, production and/or hearth industry environment an asset
