Position Overview
Responsibilities and Duties:
The position is responsible for, but not limited to:

- Prepare component estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
- Identify all assumptions being made during the estimation process on a project.
- Obtain quotations for subcontracted services, with the support of the Project Manager(s)
- Obtain quotations for various purchased raw materials and logistics services from the appropriate vendors.
- Keep a detailed list of drawings/documents, including their date and revision level, that are being used to create the estimate.
- Discuss with Senior Estimator to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements and scope of work.
- Identify to supervisor any items where scope of work varies from the Company’s core product offering.
- Select, measure, and track important estimating metrics, and appropriately save and file various estimate revisions.
- Participate in project meetings, review schedules, and coordinate various parties involved in the estimation of design-build project, when required.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key vendors
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
- Communicate and liaise with Client’s consultants, under the supervision of Snr. Estimator and Project Team efficiency.
- Visit offices, construction sites, factory, and other venues if necessary
Qualifications and Skills:

- 1 to 3 years of estimating experience in the Canadian Construction industry
- Post-secondary education in related discipline, trade experience or equivalent.
- Strong math skills including basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry
- Strong computer skills including, MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD, and Estimating Software (Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe, etc.)
- Proven ability to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical drawings packages and specification. drawings, plans, and specifications
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
- Construction Estimator Certified (CEC) designation or working towards an asset

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
