We are looking for **WILDLAND FIREFIGHTERS** for our Type III crews. You will be working alongside BC Ministry personnel, representing Malachite Forestry Ltd. The job will involve living in Ministry camps, working and living in the bush, being self-sufficient, working closely in a team of 5 to 10, long hours, physically demanding work, and an expectation of safety-focused operation. **Currently Hiring**: - Wildland Firefighters - Crew Leads (CB, STL) **Wildland Firefighter Requirements**: - S-100/A - S-185 - Pass Type III Fitness Test - _....Malachite can provide all of the above training_ **Crew Boss and Strike Team Lead Requirements**: - S-Series Wildland Firefighting tickets (S100, S185, S212, S230, S235) - ICS 100 - TDG and WHMIS - OFA-1 w/ TE - Previous experience as a Crew Lead on at least 3 fires, OR, at least 240 hours (20 days) working as a wildland firefighter - Age: >19 years - Familiarity with WorkSafe recording and reporting requirements - Danger Tree Assessor (Wildfire module DTA) ticket (optional) - Power Saw Operator ticket (optional) Wage is negotiable. **Job Type**: Seasonal Contract length: 6 months **Salary**: $21.00-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 70 per week Flexible Language Requirement: - English not required Schedule: - 12 hour shift - 8 hour shift Supplemental pay types: - Overtime pay Work Location: In person
