The Youth Coordinator (YC) is a position designed to give leadership and support to Alive Youth Ministry (grades 7-12) at Southwest Community Church. The YC will champion youth ministry at Southwest while continuing to monitor and develop spiritual formation processes for our youth through growing a thriving community. The YC is expected to come alongside the Next Gen Pastor, their ministry team and families to equip and encourage our youth to pursue Jesus. He/she is responsible for planning and facilitating regular Alive Youth programming (Alive Youth Sunday Class and mid-week events). This role will include team management (recruiting, screening, training, scheduling, and appreciation), event promotion and communication, record keeping (attendance and release forms), program evaluation, and dreaming in coordination with our Next Gen Pastor.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership in the efforts and activities of discipleship for youth in alignment with SWCC’s beliefs, mission, vision, values, goals and objectives.
- Creating age appropriate environments of learning for our youth that are fun, engaging, safe, and discipleship focused (Bible teaching and activities that assist our youth to know, walk with, and share Jesus).
- Plan and implement weekly Bible lessons for our Alive Youth Sundays class (grades 7-12).
- The Youth Coordinator will be responsible to recruit, equip, and encourage volunteer teams that are committed to providing godly mentorship, a sense of community and God’s love to our youth (e.g. recruiting, training, team meetings, regular encouragement & prayer, etc.).
- Enforcing SWCC’s Safety & Security Policy standards in partnership with our Next Gen Pastor (e.g. annual training, volunteer screening, proper ratios of team members to students, practices, managing paperwork, etc.).
- Meets regularly with the Next Gen Pastor to pray for and discuss needs and dreams for Alive Youth Ministry.
- Assist with other areas of ministry at SWCC as needed.

- Shows evidence of continued personal growth and maturity.
- Commitment to a Kingdom mindset and the work of His Church.
- A heart for youth ministry.
- Teachable, desiring to grow in all areas (both personal and ministry).
- Ability to connect and relate with a variety of people/age groups.
- Gifted in spiritual leadership.
- Able to train and equip leaders.
- Agreement with SWCC’s Statement of Faith.

**Professional Qualifications**:

- Cleared Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector
- Bible/Theological training an asset
- Relevant ministry experience

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
