_**Job Summary**:_
The Service Shop Helper supports the productivity of the welders and mechanics engaged in fabrication, and repairs of truck bodies and trailers. The Service Shop Helper will help clean and organize work areas and equipment. Unload and load supplies and materials as needed. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment and machinery.
- **Duties**:_
- Lifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
- Holds tape and rods and marks reference points to assist in layout.
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.
- Gathers parts and tools needed for jobs.
- Attaches rope or grappling equipment to workpieces to prepare workpiece for moving by crane or jib.
- Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping, using scraping tool, abrasive.
- Picks up and moves scrap from work areas.
- Train other employees as required.
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time as the company sees fit.

- **Requirements**:_
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude.
- Basic math skills
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Previous experience in truck service repair is an assist.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

**Qualifications**:

- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Valid driver's license for occasional driving tasks
- Multilingual or bilingual skills a plus
- Prior experience working in servicing trucks is preferred
- Organizational skills and time management abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and product

Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

- Mechanic: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
