**Summary**:
Under the direction of the Ranch Manager, the Public Relations Coordinator will facilitate the guest, visitor and public experience at Historic O’Keefe Ranch and its heritage village of the late 1800s and early 1900s Victorian and Edwardian era. This includes welcoming everyone to the unique heritage site and interactive museum, promoting the guided tour options and / or self-exploration options, and engaging visitors by providing guest services, concierge and information about the heritage site and museum.
This position will also attend public events to engage in public relations from both a networking and marketing perspective.

Throughout the months of May and June, the Public Relations Coordinator works with the Education Program Coordinator servicing and facilitating onsite visits from over 50 elementary and secondary schools including heritage-related activities. The Public Relations Coordinator works with the Marketing Coordinator in the planning, preparation and promotion of summer events, exposé of exhibits, and special entertainment catering to the influx of summertime tourism.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Engaging at public events to promote and welcome guests, visitors, the public and volunteers.
- Welcoming guests, visitors, the public, volunteers and fellow staff members onsite
- Provide guest service, concierge, and information about the site, tours and daily events
- Assist the Education Programs Coordinator in facilitating school group visits
- Participate in the planning and promotion of onsite activities and events
- Administer guest surveys through several means including in person, survey drop box stations, and SurveyMonkey
- Find resolution for visitor and guest issues and concerns
- Work with other staff in marketing and events on marketing material
- Work with other staff in curatorial and archival exhibits to showcase
- Work with other staff in visual arts for live presentation of historical life in and around the heritage buildings

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, speaking and writing
- Familiar with Microsoft office
- Familiar with Google Docs

**Considered an asset but not required**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in the hospitality and tourism industry
- Experience working in public relations, communications, and/or marketing
- Occupational First Aid

Preference will be given to those seeking careers in public relations, marketing, and event promotions.
