Part-time Store

**Job Overview**

We are seeking a Part-time Store and Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role is essential to support daily operations of the store and café by providing warm, attentive customer service, maintaining product presentation, preparing and serving food & drinks, and ensuring a welcoming, clean environment as well as assist our guests during check-in and throughout their stay.

They help carry forward the store’s mission of **STAY. EAT. SHOP. EXPERIENCE.** while representing the charm and hospitality your space is known for.

**Key Responsibilities** in **Retail & Customer Service**
- Welcome customers and offer a friendly, attentive experience
- Assist with product questions and recommendations
- Process sales at the register
- Restock shelves and rotate inventory (FIFO method)
- Maintain clean and inviting retail displays
- Monitor and refill pantry, gift, and grocery items

☕ **Café Operations**
- Prepare and serve beverages (tea, coffee, etc.)
- Assist with light food prep (pastries, sandwiches, tea trays, etc.)
- Plate and present baked items and small bites beautifully
- Buss and wipe tables, counters, and prep areas
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards

**Experience & Events Support** _(Tea parties, seasonal launches, workshops)_
- Assist with table setting & event staging
- Support tea party and café reservations (setup + service)
- Help prep and plate event food items
- Reset space after events

**Cleanliness & Organization**
- Daily cleaning checklist — floors, counters, café area, washroom
- Back-of-house tidy, dishes, sweeping & wiping tasks
- Promptly restock cutlery, supplies, and takeaway items

**Inventory & Back-End Support**
- Receive and unpack deliveries
- Track low-stock items for re-order
- Label products and rotate pastries properly
- Warm, friendly, community-minded
- Enjoys hospitality & small-town customer interaction
- Flexible — able to jump between café, retail, and events
- Self-starter, reliable, takes initiative
- Loves local food, cozy environments, and quality presentation
- Bonus: interest in baking, cafes, home goods, local makers

**Skills & Experience**
- (Preferred, but you can train the right personality)_
- Barista or café experience
- Retail or hospitality background
- POS/cash handling experience
- Food handling and Smart Serve certification (or willing to obtain)

**Availability**
- Weekends required
- Flexible shifts (approx. 10-20 hours / week)
- Peak support during holidays & event days

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$25.86 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
