Drywall Foreman

Shek is looking to expand our team and hire a Drywall foreman to work in the commercial drywall sector. You will be required to look after 4 core trade activities on the job site; metal framing, insulation, drywalling, and taping. As the foreman will oversee employees and sub-trades; typically, worksite employees can range from 5 to 50, pending the size and longevity of the job. A Foreman needs to be able to purchase materials accurately and in accordance with company policy. Purchasing materials, scheduling, deliveries and scheduling workers, scheduling equipment availability with the General Contractor and/or Site Supervisor are essential to this role. A Drywall foreman must know how to accurately read drawings, have a minimum of 5 years in the commercial drywall sector and have experience working with site supers, trades-people, engineers and project managers.

**Job Duties**:

- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of construction workers engaged in framing, drywalling, insulating and taping.
- Read and interpret drawings, and correspond with the builder and engineers to ensure work is being completed to code.
- Attend regular site meetings and work through scheduling with other trades on site
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors. Efficiently direct the workforce to ensure workers’ days are full and productive. Work with the site supervisor to ensure trades working “in front” of Shek Interiors complete their job fully before our tradespeople begin their work.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Requisition materials and supplies, log hours and piece work for payroll.
- Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
- Prepare work progress reports.
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers and laborers.
- Work away for extended periods of time

**Salary**: $22.00-$34.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- RED DEER, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Construction/Drywall Foreman: 3 years (preferred)
