The Opportunity
The general-purpose production assistant is capable of working in one of several manufacturing areas within the Smiths Falls site. They will be able to work on the production line with enough flexibility to be able to move across campus depending on the business’ needs. We are looking for an individual who possesses a positive attitude, team mentality, is eager to learn & open to new ideas, adapts well to an evolving environment, demonstrates reliability, able to follow safety and quality standards, drives throughput targets, works efficiently, works well with teams, and builds capability in others.
Responsibilities- Painting infused joints- Assisting the team with daily production tasks, including packaging and machine operation (where experience applies)- Supporting toting, end-of-line packaging, and sieving bulk product on elevated platforms- Assisting in the hash-making process: mixing batches, rolling sheets, cutting squares, and bagging hash- Supporting other departments during downtime to encourage cross-functional teamwork and flexibility
Experience- 1-2 years in and industrial/manufacturing setting is an asset- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.- Ability to operate machinery- Ability to perform basic manual tasks- Ability to wear job required PPE such as a surgical mask and goggles.- Ability to work in a team environment
