Reporting to the Interdisciplinary Team Program Manager, the Interdisciplinary Team Program Coordinator will uphold the BSCS philosophy by leading the agency’s initiative and connecting with the community we serve by facilitating a vast range of programs and events. The Program Coordinator will use recreation as a tool to encourage social stimulus and positive outcomes. This role will work in collaboration with colleagues, clients, and external partners to create full cycle event planning and program stratagems.

**Key Areas of Responsibilities**:

- Encourage and motivate community members to participate in recreation and wellness activities and programs by creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all community members.
- Assist the community members’ by helping them navigate recreation and wellness resource while also supporting them to eliminating their barriers of access.
- Coordinate a minimum of 2 recreational and wellness programs per week within your den, and 1 large scale event per month.
- Build and maintain a volunteer network to support programming within the organization. Act as a supervisor to volunteers during programs by preparing for their arrival, delegating tasks, and answering questions.
- Identify suitable, potential sources for funding and resources.
- Support other departments throughout the organization with their programming needs for larger events.
- BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.
- All other duties as outlined by program manager.

**Qualifications**:

- Post Secondary Degree in a relevant field of study (Social Services, Recreation Therapy) and/or relevant work experience
- Valid Class 5 Non-GDL license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
- Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in a future course
- Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector completed within the past six months and kept up to date (every 3 years)
- Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past six months and kept up to date (every 3 years)
- Experience with and knowledge of Indigenous culture and ceremonies is considered an asset.
