Machinist (Apprentice - Experienced)

_**MACHINIST (APPRENTICE - EXPERIENCED)**_

- **CPI Automation operates two plants to support its activities in the Canadian marketplace, located in Mississauga and Kitchener, Ontario. Manufacturing and service activities are carried on at the Mississauga plant with CAD based design supporting a fully equipped machining and fabricating facility.**_

Working as part of our Team your duties would include a variety of tasks as outlined below. The Primary role would be would be as an Apprentice Machinist working under our Senior Machinist, who has over 30 years of experience in Tool & Die and General Machining. Other roles would include Assembly (working with our 80/20 product line alongside our experienced Technicians), On-Site Installations at Customer facilities (working with our Service Team) and General Duties around the Shop.

- **Responsibilities**_
- CNC Programmer & Operator (HAAS TM-2P / HAAS VF-4SS / Can-Cam CNC Router)
- Operate typical Shop machinery (i.e. drill press, lathe, milling machine, etc.)
- Read and interoperate technical engineering drawings/blueprints
- Verify part tolerances using measuring instruments to ensure quality
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient way, follow relevant safety procedures
- Perform Preventative Maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Clean up of working area to help maintain a safe working environment
- Operate Forklift & Work From Heights (CPI to send for training, if required)
- Ability to lift heavy materials (50 lbs minimum)
- **Technical Qualifications**_
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Machining
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of CNC Programming
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of CAM Software
- Technical knowledge of Hand Tools & Shop Machinery
- Ability to read and interoperate technical drawings/blueprints
- Reliable, organized, detailed and focused

- Mechanically inclined with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) in English
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with customers and employees
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment to meet important customer deadlines

- Ability to work in a pro-active manner with mínimal supervision
- Ability to multitask and manage time well
