POSITION: INSTRUCTOR APPRENTICE (Skiing only)

Reports to: Snow School Managers & Snow School Supervisors

Primary objectives:

- To assist in executing Ski lessons, under the supervision of a certified Ski Pro for Children, Tot and Adults, Beginner to Intermediate classes
- To develop skiing and teaching skills within the Apprentice program

Scope:

- Must be 15 years of age
- Assist in lesson areas prior to lesson start
- Assist with loading and unloading at Lifts
- Assist certified instructors to teach lessons to different ability levels and ages
- To perform other duties, such as, but not limited to:

- Terrain set and tear down
- Greeting customers in the Rossignol Experience Centre
- Boot-fitting in rental shop
- To participate in all development training sessions as part of the Apprentice Program Participants are required to pay the exam fees prior to the start of the one day exam.
- Upon successful completion of the exam Apprentices can choose to work in any Snow School as a certified Level 1 instructor.

This program will:

- Help increase your level of professionalism
- Provide a training plan and progress reports to help you achieve your level 1 certification
- Provide overall skill improvement under the guidance of a course conductor and certified pros
- Introduce you to the fun world of being a ski instructor

Availability:

- You must attend all development training sessions and lesson shadows to meet the requirements of the program and be eligible to take the level 1 exam.
- These will be held on the following Saturday’s: Jan 11th /18th/25th Feb 1st/ 8th/ 22nd March 1st/ 8th/15th /22nd

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Instructor Apprentice is expected to adhere to the policies of Mount Washington Alpine Resort and Snow School. You will always work under the supervision of a certified ski instructor. You are expected to follow instructions and do your best at all times, if you have questions, concerns or criticisms, please speak with the Programs Coordinator or the Snow School Supervisors. The Snow School Manager’s office is ALWAYS open if you have any concerns.
