**Academic Student Success Coach (Term Part-Time)**
Winkler Campus
- **POSITION TYPE**: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated February 3, 2025 up to May 2, 2025)
- **SALARY**: $30.03 - $42.36 hourly
- **POSITION LOCATION**: Winkler Campus (120km outside of Winnipeg, MB)
- **DUTIES**
The Academic Student Success Coach works directly with students in both one-on-one and group settings to provide a personalized range of services that support student academic success during all stages of the student life cycle at Red River College’s Regional Campuses (pre-entry, admissions, early alert, within program, and employability preparation). Academic Student Success Coaches provide students with academic success tutoring, guidance and an accountability structure as they work through their programs. The activities are more interventionist in nature, requiring students to self-identify areas of weakness in order to create a strategic learning plan. Academic Student Success Coaches support and hold students accountable as they work to better their study, content, time management or life skills needed for success.
The Academic Student Success coach will be responsible for planning and executing student events monthly throughout the year that add to the student experience.
- **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education in Education or Guidance Counselling; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience facilitating individual and group sessions in academic skills, including: self-management, attitude, motivation, time management, concentration, study aids/strategies and test strategies
- Experience in academic coaching and tutoring
- Ability to assess/diagnose student learning needs and make appropriate referrals
- Familiarity with educational resources available to students from vulnerable populations and for learning disabilities, and adult literacy
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

**ASSET QUALIFICATIONS**
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Red River College’s learning management and Early Alert systems
- Certificate in Adult Education or equivalent

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver's license
- This position may be required to travel
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
