JOB TITLE: Shipping and Receiving Coordinator (Non-Exempt)

Position Summary:
Perform duties to arrange and coordinate the shipping of product to customers in accordance with planned shipping schedules and in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

- Prepare rail & truck shipments for customers, combine shipments as appropriate, prepare loading specification sheet, and ensure proper loading procedures are followed.
- Monitor all outbound shipments to ensure orders are in transit as scheduled.
- Resolve customer complaints relating to orders in transit and freight rates, investigate and determine the nature of the problem, and take corrective action.
- Monitor stock list for negative quantities and check for missing inventory.
- Check all prepaid shipments to add freight charges, and resolve all billing errors prior to final billing.
- Quote freight rates to customers and sales personnel.
- Contact customers to correct mistakes on bills of lading or to advise when material is ready.
- Monitor customer claims for credit to ensure proper return of material is arranged.
- Maintain a file of all open rail and truck shipments and of records of rail cars and trailers in the area.
- Prepare and distribute reports relating to traffic management.
- Prepare UPS shipments when required.
- Maintain and update files and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills: To qualify for consideration an applicant should possess the following skills:
Experience using computer related systems, and other common office equipment. Knowledge of Great Plains.

High School diploma or GED preferred.

Should posses the ability to read and comprehend, in English, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
