**Job Purpose Summary**:The Laborer performs a variety of general activities and prepares vehicles to be brought into shop: washing vehicles, maintaining yard and work areas, assisting mechanics, moving material and equipment, and other general labor tasks.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Wash vehicles prior to servicing and complete undercarriage washes
- Load, unload and move products, parts and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment from transportation vehicles and within the shop to and from work areas
- Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking
- Operate loader and skid steer
- Part-time driver duties; including pickup and delivery between sites and town
- Assist all mechanics on site; including equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
- Perform general housekeeping, weed control, yard maintenance and clean-up and snow-removal in the winter
- Operate wash bay equipment, shovels, and other hand tools as directed
- Perform other activities in a construction site and mechanic shop environment
- Sweep debris and remove snow from sidewalks, building grounds and other areas.
- Spread sand or salt on sidewalks for snow and ice control
- Collect and load garbage and recycling into dumpsters and bins
- Perform other general labor tasks

**Required Knowledge**:

- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
- Local to Fort McMurray
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Acceptable Drivers Abstract
- Skid Steer or Loader training and/or experience would be considered an asset

**Required Skills**:

- Physically fit with the ability to lift to 50 lbs., ten (20) time per day.
- Ability to work in cold weather.
- Ability to drive in poor weather conditions
- Effective verbal, listening, reading and writing English communication skills
- Overtime required, as needed
- Team building skills

**Working Conditions**:

- Construction and mechanic shop environment with frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Construction project site environment
- Travel is required via automobile

**Salary**: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
