**Responsibilities**:
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to project specifications and safety regulations.
- Excavate, move, grade, and compact earth, gravel, and other materials for road foundations and surfaces.
- Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on equipment, including checking fluid levels, lubricating, and reporting mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with other crew members to ensure proper sequencing of operations and completion of tasks.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with crew members.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to heavy equipment operation and road construction.
- Maintain worksite cleanliness and assist in general labor duties as required.
- Operate equipment in all weather conditions and over rough terrain.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous construction and operating experience will be considered an asset
- Comfortable with working outdoors, in extreme weather conditions, and in a noisy and dusty environment
- Experience operating paving equipment
- Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 lbs./22.7 kg
- Effective communication (Written & Verbal)
- OSSD or equivalent diploma
- Have a valid G driver’s license
- Punctual, reliable, and an excellent team player
- Knowledge of geographical territory
