**JOB DESCRIPTION**:Our Game Supervisors and Referees play an important role in the overall success of our leagues because they are responsible for ensuring that the games run smoothly every night. We are looking for a few dedicated, hard-working, and trustworthy part-time employees to help coordinate our sports leagues at our venues. Although many of our leagues are self-officiated, we require competent, personable, and confident staff members at every venue, to act as the face of the league, to set up equipment, monitor the games, answer member questions and/or concerns, and resolve issues as they arise. We do offer some leagues which are officiated, such as soccer, and we are also looking for some part-time staff members who would be interested in becoming referees for those leagues.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Coordinate game schedules with the league office
- Gain early access to the venues prior to each shift
- Maintain positive relationships with all venue staff
- Set up any necessary equipment for the games
- Greet members as they arrive and provide excellent customer service
- Monitor all games, assist with issues and incidents as they arise
- In some cases, act as a referee (extra training provided in this case)
- Report back to league office with any pertinent post-shift information
- Take in game photo’s of teams or of gameplay to be posted on our social media pages.
- Ensure members follow COVID-19 guidelines
- Sanitize equipment between games

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE**:

- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have access to a car, or ability to navigate well on public transport
- Must be dependable and trustworthy
- Prior knowledge and/or experience with sports is considered an asset
- Experience as a referee/official is preferred, though not necessary
- Experience with customer service is also an asset
- Confidence is key to succeeding in this role, and must also have strong problem solving skills
- Effective conflict resolution and teamwork skills

**SHIFT TIMES**:All of our League Games take place on weekday evenings and Sunday afternoons, so it should be expected that all of the available shifts will take place at those times. Most available shifts range from 2-3 hours.

To keep our Event Conveners as safe as possible we will implement COVID-19 protocols to be followed by our members. Each Convener will be given hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes to use for the season.
