**IVVQ Specialist**
Duration: 12 months
Location: Toronto, ON : Hybrid Role, work would be on average 2 to 3 times per week in office.
Performs integration and testing in-plant and at project sites in accordance with established plans and procedures. Prepares problem reports describing integration and test failures and defects.
**Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility**
- Performing integration activities in-house and at project sites to mitigate the key project acceptance and commissioning risks
- Investigating integration anomalies through review of data files, design documentation and through interaction with the development teams
- Participating in the analysis of the integration issues and follows up on the rectification of anomalies
- Executing formal tests within the laboratory environment
- Consistently recognize anomalous system behaviour and documents the behaviour into the problem tracking system
- Conduct initial review of the test results through the observed system responses and the analysis of the collected data
- Communicate test observations and results in both oral and written media to superiors and other engineering staff
- Preparing problem reports in the defect tracking system describing test failures and defects
- Acquire product knowledge through active participation in formal and on the job training, as well as self-study
- Preparing trip reports upon completion of field assignments
Skills Required for this role:
- Able to quickly integrate with the team and work independently
- Experience in working within a team using Agile Methodologies
- Practical experience in using typical programs which are part of Microsoft Office Suite
- Practical experience with requirements management and problems tracking tools
- Comfortable with Unix command line and/or Windows powershell
Preferred:
- knowledge of in-house and field integration methods and procedures
- Analysis skills, able to diagnose issues based on test logs and correlate events to failures
- Understanding of data communication systems
- Understanding of simulation systems
- Understanding of troubleshooting techniques
- Entry level experience in testing real time embedded mission critical systems
- Entry level knowledge of in-house and field testing techniques
- Entry level experience in using scripting languages and test automation
- Understanding of System Engineering principles, life cycle models and requirements analysis
- Knowledgeable of software verification and validation processes
- C/C++ programming skills
- Hands on experience in test automation is strongly desired
- Preferred languages are python and/or bash
**Education**:
University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, System Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field Able to handle assignments within a small to medium test team
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- C/C++ Programming: 4 years (required)
- UNIX: 3 years (preferred)
- PowerShell: 2 years (preferred)
