Our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software Accuro®EMR has the largest adoption in Canada and serves thousands of providers and millions of patients. Our patient platform Medeo leverages that market penetration and connects patients to their healthcare providers. Our other supporting products round out a robust offering, connecting healthcare providers to their patients, their data and each other. As we continue to build up new and exciting interactions between our products and other healthcare organizations in the industry, we are looking for a passionate leader who is motivated to be an integral driver of innovation in healthcare technologies in Canada.
The Knowledge and Information Specialist will be a key contributor in re-skilling the Technology department as it completes it journey from data centers to the Cloud. This will include identifying and creating appropriate education materials and programs, and enabling and encouraging team members to do the necessary learning. You will be responsible for the internal knowledge management of the Technology department of QHR. This includes ensuring documentation is thorough, useful, and easily findable, creating and implementing knowledge management best practices, and connecting staff with timely, impactful professional development resources. This will involve working with managers and stakeholders to design and implement efficient, sustainable solutions.
Success in this role is measured by
- Your ability to consistently facilitate ongoing knowledge transfers each month
- The implementation and curation of Professional Development programs within the Technology department
- The quality of the documentation in our Technology workspace
- Successful coverage of your peers' responsibilities
Competencies Critical for Success
- Solid understanding of how organization specific knowledge is developed
- Proactive self-starter who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at time management to ensure that work is kept on track and short deadlines are met

- Able to fearlessly tackle complex problems with ease and confidence and to curate critical information over its whole life cycle
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulating and implementing knowledge management strategies appropriate to QHR
- Managing the operational side of documentation and information dissemination
- Influencing change in the organization
- Responsible for knowledge management, within the Technology department and its interactions with out the departments
- Develop (find, create, repurpose) and disseminated internal training resources
- In conjunction with our technical writers, follow and maintain our good documentation practices
- Help identify gaps in critical documentation, driving overall improvements in coverage
- Curate the Technology knowledge base, Including strategizing the organization and metadata to ensure easy findability and usability
- Create and implement strategies for identifying and dealing with inaccurate / out-of-date information
- Liaise with documentation specialists from elsewhere in the organization, promoting best practices
- Own the knowledge transfer between PD and Technology, in the form of cross-department knowledge share
- Work with team leads and management to identify what important documentation and professional development resources are missing or should be improved
- Support technical writing needs within the Technology department
- Create good practices for knowledge management appropriate to the organization
- Teach and encourage others to follow best practices for documentation

Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
- Masters in Library and Information Science, Adult Education or similar
- Experience with knowledge management
- Great communicator and teacher
- Good general computer skills
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of how to leverage AI (e.g. ChatGPT)
Compensation and Logistics
- Base salary, variable bonus established at the corporate level, competitive benef
