Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to join our team at our Corporate Office in Winnipeg.

**What You Will Do**
- Uphold and embody FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Champion FGI's safety culture by performing all duties within established procedures and practices
- Execute purchasing and inventory strategies with regional purchasers
- Coordinate with branch managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs
- Track key functional metrics to maximize fill rate, reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Analyze demand patterns, implement strategies secure special pricing to maintain stock levels
- Identify and manage seasonality in product mix
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks through issue resolution and performance evaluation
- Other duties as assigned.

**What We Require**:

- Degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration preferred
- 5+ years’ experience as a purchasing manager, supervisor or agent preferred
- Experience in aftermarket parts or distribution preferred
- Familiarity with Epicor Prophet 21 or ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite is an asset
- Excellent customer service skills - dedicated to exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers.
- Strong written and verbal skills - ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data manipulation and reporting
- Strong critical thinking, planning, organization and attention to detail
- Solid judgement and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with vendor management, inventory management and market dynamics
