Position Overview

As our innovative business continues to rapidly grow, we are seeking a full-time Buyer to answer to the growing needs of GFS Specialty Company, Fresh Start Foods in Richmond, BC.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. This position will be 4 days in the office, 1 day from home.

Salary: $50,000-75,000 per year, plus bonus based on performance

**Responsibilities**:
- Sourcing and purchasing food products, Including packaging- Negotiating contracts and product costs- Analyzing market trends- Managing inventory levels- Collaborating with other departments (Warehousing, Fleet, Production, and Sales.)- Managing vendor relationships and performance- Optimizing purchasing processes- Forecasting demand- Managing documentation- Ensuring compliance with company policies- Leading initiatives for specific category assignment- Driving cost saving initiatives- Other duties as required

Required Skills and Qualifications- Previous experience in purchasing/buying is an asset.- Produce industry experience is an asset.- Proficient computer skills.- Effective communication in an open and direct manner; conveys information clearly and concisely, with strong written and verbal communication skills.- Self-starter who thrives on working in a fast paced environment.- Strong attention to details.- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.- Accountable and dependable.
