Bandit's Pet Services is looking for a new team member Our well established, small but strong business has been growing and we are looking to bring on an extra pair of hands. We have a single part-time position open for a permanent sub-contractor for dog walking & pet sitting and are looking to bring someone on ASAP.

**A Little Bit About Us**

Bandit's Pet Services is based in Langford, BC and has been offering services throughout the Victoria area since the start of 2024. We provide professional private and personalized pet care, and have carved out a niche working with dogs with behavioral issues, senior pet and those who need a little bit more time and attention. As we only walk one client's dog(s) at a time, we also attract clients who are just looking for a private dog walk/hike without the stress of having to worry who's dog may be walking with theirs, and knowing that their dog is receiving our full attention during their personalized adventure.

**Job Overview: Dog Walker & Pet Sitter**

Pay:

- Dog Walking_

Our starting rates are $20 - $24/hr depending on your experience and qualifications.
- Overnight Pet Sitting:_

Our starting rates are $50 - $54/night depending on your experience and qualifications.

**Location**:
We are looking for someone to primarily provide service throughout Royal Oak, Saanich Core, Esquimalt and downtown Victoria.

Shift & Schedule:

- Dog Walking_

Our operating hours are from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday to Friday, including statutory holidays (except Christmas day). We do pay a premium for statutory holidays.

Expected Hours:
We are looking for someone who can work a minimum of 10hr/week, but, we can currently offer up to 25hr/week with room to expand to full-time work in the future if you are interested.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Dog walking _
- You will be travelling between clients' homes to provide private, on-leash dog walks for a variety of breeds, temperaments and sizes. This will sometimes include driving your clients' dog to another location (dog friendly hiking trails, fields, etc.) for their session.
- You must ensure you are consistently using positive reinforcement methods to manage any reactivity, leash challenges or other behavior issues. As well, you must stay aware of yours and your clients' dogs surroundings at all times and be proactive with avoiding potential hazards or dangers to ensure everyone's safety.
- You must reliably and clearly communicate with clients and our team about the dogs general wellbeing and behavior, as well as any concerns or issues that may have arisen. This includes talking with or texting clients after each booking to provide a report.
- You will be provided with specific care instructions for each dogs specific booking which you must follow.
- You must ensure to maintain a clean environment and ALWAYS pick up after dogs.
- Overnight Pet Sitting_
- _You will be staying at clients' homes to provide private overnight pet care. This includes but is not limited to morning/evening feedings, properly administering medication, providing daily enrichment and exercise, picking up after their pet, etc.
- You will also be expected to keep the clients' homes clean and tidy, as well as provide light house maintenance (taking out garbage on requested days, bringing in any packages and/or mail, etc.).
- You will still attend you regular bookings throughout the day. Some overnight pet sittings require you to provide mid-day breaks, lunch feedings, etc. We do pay a premium for this and always ensure it does not interfere with your current schedule.

**Requirements**:

- You must be be able to pass a criminal background check and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- You must hold, or, be willing to obtain a valid Dogsafe Canine First Aid certificate. We do accept equivalent pet first aid certificate from other credible and reputable organizations.
- You must hold a valid class 5N or class 5 driver's license, and must own or have reliable access to a vehicle.
- Extensive one-on-one, hands on training will be provided upon hiring, however, we do require that you have significant experience with dogs.
- Bandit's Pet Services provides private and personalized/tailored pet care. Although we work with pets of ALL breeds, temperaments and sizes, we specializes in working with dogs with reactivity and other behavior issues. We do provide extensive one-on-on, hands on training upon hiring, as well multiple opportunities (with support) to get to know your clients' pets and their needs. You will NEVER be asked or required to care for, or walk a pet that is displaying violent, uncontrollable behavior, and/or is endangering your safety, or, that you feel uncomfortable working with.
