SkyAlyne is a proud partnership between Canadian aviation and defence leaders, CAE and KF Aerospace, formed to provide a truly Canadian solution for Canada’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program, Canada’s next-generation military aircrew training program.

SkyAlyne has been named by Canada as the preferred bidder for the FAcT Program, and we are staffing our National Capital Office in anticipation of a Contract Award. Therefore, we are now hiring in key positions that are needed to execute the 20+ year contract. The program will be managed from the National Capital Region (Ottawa), supporting three operational locations: Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Southport (Portage la Prairie), Manitoba; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The scope of the FAcT Program includes all training and in-service support needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers, and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators to meet the future aircrew requirements of the Royal Canadian Air Force. In collaboration with the Government of Canada and several major Canadian subcontractors, SkyAlyne will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more.

**Job Overview**

The People and Culture** **Generalist (Generalist) is a key member of the People and Culture team, providing support to the Head of People and Culture and supporting the implementation of various HR initiatives, policies, and processes. The Generalist will also lead recruitment initiatives and onboarding of new hires. They will provide support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and practices and will promote a positive organizational culture.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Support the Head of People and Culture with human resources initiatives in line with the organization’s goals and in promotion of a positive organizational culture.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment initiatives, including supporting hiring managers throughout the SkyAlyne recruitment processes.
- Supporting the induction and onboarding process, including coordination of orientation schedule and onboarding tasks
- Providing guidance and support to managers and employees on a variety of human resources issues, including policies and procedures
- Support the development and implementation of policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's people and culture needs.
- Deliver and/or coordinate various training initiatives.
- Support the development, implementation and adherence to various human resource programs and processes, including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, performance management, talent management, staffing, retention, succession planning, leadership development, recognition, morale, onboarding, offboarding, diversity and inclusion, and training and development.
- Assisting with the implementation and administration of the HRIS and related HR systems, including the applicant tracking system (ATS), employee files, and benefits system.
- Monitoring and ensuring the organization's compliance with applicable federal and provincial employment laws and regulations and supporting the implementation of best practices.
- Production and analysis of various human resources related surveys and reports, including various HR metrics.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher education, in the field of HR, business administration, commerce, management, leadership, industrial relations, or a related field.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or an equivalent designation, education, training, or level of experience.
- Five (5) years of human resources generalist experience with a minimum two (2) years of related recruitment experience
- Strong understanding of: HR legislation and regulatory principles and practices, including, but not limited to, the Canada Labour Code, the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Employment Equity Act, the Pay Equity Act, and GBA+ processes.
- Previous experience working for a business where the Government of Canada was the client or a business in the aviation industry. Having a background in both environments would be an asset.
- Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and recruitment systems (ATS). Experience with ADP is an asset.
- Excellent planning, organizing and time-management skills.
- Strong professionalism, communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, using a collaborative approach to resolve issues.
- Demonstrated high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suites
