**Description**:
Reporting to the Director of Indigenous Education, the **Indigenous Student Services Manager**, through a proactive, consultative, and collaborative process, is accountable for the leadership and management of Indigenous Cultural Assistants and Student Navigators.

They will work with community stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and Northern Lights College staff, departments, and leadership teams to facilitate the access transition, retention, and success of Indigenous students. This will be accomplished through the development of programming, identifying policy and process barriers and strategies to increase access to the Indigenous learners.

There will be a requirement to represent the College, when requested, at events pertaining to Indigenous education throughout the NLC region, in conjunction with campus representatives.

Note that this position may be located in either Dawson Creek or Fort St John, BC.

** Travel within the NLC community region may be required.

**Qualifications**:

- Required: _
- A bachelor's degree in a related discipline relevant to post-secondary Indigenous education, or 2 years of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience working with Indigenous students, communities, and Elders.
- Awareness and sensitivity to social, cultural, and diverse issues in the workplace. Highly developed level of integrity, and discretion, and able to maintain strict confidentiality and to handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Thorough knowledge of Indigenous communities and components of Indigenous student success in a post-secondary environment.
- Demonstrated experience and cultural training to lead and support traditional and contemporary Indigenous art and activities.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the current and historical issues with regards to BC First Nations communities, especially related to Indigenous education.
- Exceptional communication skills resulting in effective communication, conflict management and dispute resolution.
- Excellent organization, administrative and problem-solving skills, with superior attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience in human resource management, budget development and related administrative areas.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- A valid BC driver's license and the willingness to travel.
