As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Manufacturing Supervisor in Waterloo, ON.

The main focus of this position is to provide leadership and oversight to a manufacturing group. The supervisor will act as an interface between the various internal customers while setting goals and measuring performance to ensure customers needs are being met effectively.

Basic

**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the direct supervision and management of staff. Ensure that OHSA is followed and that employees are trained based on both the Act and DALSA H&S policies to ensure due diligence is met. To respond and address health and safety concerns of employees and to find ways to resolve those concerns. To complete physical inspection of the department being supervised in order to identify and resolve any workplace hazards.- Ensure that production schedules and targets are met.- Identification, planning and provision of comprehensive training for the associates to ensure an effective level of cross-training.- Provide monthly reports of metrics that indicate the performance levels of the group.- Provide support for all employees in the group.- Collect, maintain and provide access to data in a manner that supports product design, manufacturing process and customer support continuous improvement efforts.- Ensure daily action plans are met; ensure problems are escalated that are not within direct control. Participate in lean Kaizens and ensure lean practices/procedures are implemented and adhered to.- Ability to motivate others to complete expected workload with high level of quality.- Consistent policy clarification and enforcement.- Ability to recognize performance issues or accomplishments and provide timely feedback.- Participate in performance management/monitoring. This includes but is not limited to GOP preparation and mid and final year reviews.- Recruit new associates as required ensuring that adequate training occurs to allow them to deliver quality products and fit into assigned teams.- Develop two-way communication skills between yourself and individual team members. Team members must feel that they can voice their concerns and that supervisors have understood them.- Show evidence that basic problem solving skills are evident in your approach to solving daily problems.

Basic Education and Experience- Graduate Electronic Engineering Technologist/Technician or Operations Management Program- Two plus years experience in a related role, with experience in a supervisory position- Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment- Proven leadership capabilities- Basic problem solving skills
