**Position Summary**
The Procurement Contract Specialist will execute the purchasing functions for the Division with the responsibility and authority to make commitments for the procurement of goods, services and construction. The Procurement Contract Specialist provides advice and guidance to vendors, schools and central Decision Units (DU), other Purchasing Contract Services and Finance leadership.
**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
- establishing and managing complex procurements including development of tender documents
- reviewing documentation and verifying eligibility for vendor registrations
- preparing tender documents for complex one-time procurements and ongoing contracts
- conducting the tender process including posting addendums
- developing vendor and client relationships and resolving contract disputes
- evaluating tender responses for compliance
- awarding of purchase orders or contracts
- managing purchase order discrepancies
- managing of established contracts throughout contract lifecycle
- supervising Junior and Intermediate Procurement Agents including coaching, mentoring, performance management, scheduling and assigning workload
- providing procurement advice and guidance to schools, central DUs and vendors
- maintaining knowledge pertaining to procurement policies, legislation, contract/competitive bid law, trade agreement obligation

**Education/Qualifications**
- undergraduate degree in a related field
- recognized purchasing designation (SCMP, CPPB, CPPO)
- a minimum of six years related experience including working in a public sector environment
- advanced knowledge of competitive bid/contract law, legislation, trade agreement obligations and industry best practices
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong customer service focus

**Rate of Pay**
$49.50 - $63.31 per hour
