Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team and hire an **Apprentice** **Aircraft Painter** to work on our aircraft and ground fleet.
**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**:
Coulson Aviation is expanding and looking to add an **Apprentice** **Aircraft Painter** **to its paint and finishing department.
This full-time position is based at Coulson Aircrane Ltd.’s airport facility in Port Alberni, BC.
**Compensation **for this position will fall between** $22.00 - $30.00/hour, **depending on experience and education.
**Responsibilities**:
- Reports to the Paint Manager to assess current needs of the day and determine which project(s) and location(s) will require attention
- Preparation, priming, and painting of aircraft components, parts, and panels
- Parts degreasing, sanding, and masking
- Mixing paint
- Equipment operation
- Spray gun operation
- Working with stencils, decorative items, CG images, etc.
- Works with scrapers, solvents, sandpaper, acids, and other refinishing products
- Painting of aircraft parts while adhering to procedure and specifications
- Use appropriate painting and polishing techniques and other related skills to complete assigned tasks
**Requirements**:
- 1 year of experience working in similar type of role or industry (paint or autobody shop would be preferred)
- Hardworking and passionate about your chosen career path
- Good communication skills, able to take direction well, work independently and with a team
**Preferred Requirements**:
- Previous experience working in the automotive or aviation industry would be considered an asset
- Current enrollment in a Painter and/or Decorator program, or completion of an Automotive Refinishing Program is highly preferred
This full-time position is based at Coulson Aircrane Ltd.’s airport facility in Port Alberni, BC.
**In addition to an hourly rate of $22.00 - $30.00/hour, we offer employer paid benefits and a 5% matching pension plan.
