Position Summary

The Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) provides clinical therapy as defined and outlined by a Registered Speech Language Pathologist. The CDA develops treatment and activities, based on the goals established by the Speech Language Pathologist, and documents the same in the treatment log.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of a 2 year college diploma or an undergraduate degree is required
- 12 month Communicative Disorders Assistant Program Certificate required
- Membership in the Communicative Disorder Assistant Association of Canada (CDAAC) preferred
- Minimum of one year of adult communication disorder experience preferred.
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, professionalism and respect for confidentiality
- Must be able to perform all the duties in the position description
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills
- Excellent attendance record
- Ability to transport materials (up to 20 lbs.), or push a patient in a wheelchair
- Ability to sustain intense listening/mental concentration
- Ability to make frequent changes in body position
- Good visual skills
- Demonstrates commitment to continued professional and personal growth and development through Continuing Education Programs and Self Directed Learning Opportunities.
