Assembly Technician

Reporting to the Lead Hand, the Assembly Technician - VBU is responsible for providing quality workmanship on the assembly and testing of various check valve and related product components while maintaining high standards of production, documentation, and safety.
**Key position functions include**:
- Assemble, stamp and test valve components in accordance with production order requirements
- Hydrostatic body and seat testing and low-pressure air seat testing of finished valves
- Ensure painting operations are performed in accordance with safety regulations and are carried out in a conscientious manner
- Identify non-conformances by separation and/or marking
- Follow all work order, process traveler requirements and instructions, fill out job sheets or record time within SAP
- Record information as required for tracking and traceability of finished product and component
- Report all machine, forklift, crane and hoist problems in the proper maintenance logs and notify Lead Hand/Supervisor of a downtime situation
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Related assembly and warehouse experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Forklift experience an asset
- Computer skills an asset
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Good communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills
- Detail oriented, strong work ethic and self-motivated
- Willingness to learn
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
