The Residential Care Worker works as a member of a team responsible for assisting the residents with activities of daily living and to provide opportunities to promote independence and self-esteem. The Residential Care Worker is responsible for introducing and implementing ideas and activities that will increase the resident’s independence and social skills.

**Celebrating it's 60th year, Campbell River and District Association for Community Living** (CRADACL) is responsible for the operation of several permanent residential services. All of the homes have unique characteristics but share a caring, supportive environment to help residents achieve their optimum level of independence. Our residents are adults, living with developmental disabilities.

As the residential group homes are open all hours every day of the week, the hours of work for the position include weekend and evening shifts (Shifts can start from 7am, you may be required to work a shift up until 11pm finishes. Typically staff work 8/12 hours ).The typical shifts are; 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm and nightshift (awake) 11pm-7am.

*Casuals must be available for 2/4 weekends, evening, holidays and short notice shifts.

As our Residential Care Worker is working within the person's home we are looking for **caring, compassionate, respectful** individuals who are **passionate about supporting others.**

**REQUIREMENTS TO BEGIN PROGRAM ORIENTATIONS**
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License _(Class 4 Driver's License will be required upon 90 days of hire)_
- First Aid and CPR
- Negative TB test results
- Criminal Record Check
- Food Safe Certification

**Upon successful recruitment and selection process we will discuss how to obtain these.**

**Costs associated with pre-employment requirements will be reimbursed upon successful completion of probation period.**

**QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS**
- **FULL TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN**:

- Human Services Worker Certification or certification in a relevant field is beneficial but **not essential**.
- Prior job experience (paid or volunteer), working with people with developmental disabilities is an asset, but not essential.
- Have an understanding and ability to work with individuals with mental disability and complex care needs, or **be willing to learn**.
- Has **enthusiasm and energy to be a contributing team member**.
- Must be **physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job**.
