**Overall Purpose**:
Reporting to the Executive Superintendent and System Superintendent of Special Education and Inclusion, the Manager, Psychological Services, will be responsible for the effective planning, delivery and oversight of psychological services in accordance with the service delivery plan, TDSB policies and procedures, and relevant legislative and regulatory standards
**Summary of Duties**:
**Leadership and Management**
- Provide leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of Psychological Services, ensuring ethical, responsible, and effective service delivery in assessment, consultation, and intervention.
- Hire, supervise and monitor performance of Psychological Services staff in compliance with the requirements of TDSB polices and procedures, College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), and the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
- Manage all aspects of psychological files as required by RHPA and CPO.
- Allocate staff to schools/sites based on system needs and priorities.
- Responsible for the effective management and leadership of staff including planning, identifying staff needs, training, coaching, resource allocation, performance evaluation and participation in the grievance handling process.
- Provide system leadership in collaboration with senior managers and members of senior team to support priorities in the Multi Year Strategic Plan (MYSP).
- Provide leadership in fostering equity and inclusion in the development and implementation of programs and services.
- Lead regularly scheduled team meetings, professional development activities, and communication strategies to promote alignment with the service delivery model.
- Monitor and ensure completion of psycho-educational assessments by staff as directed by the supervisor.
- Consult with and advise staff on complex case issues, ensuring consistent, high-quality service.
- Manage, review and monitor budget expenditures and resources, including staffing allocations, procurement of test materials, learning resources, and professional development opportunities.
**Staff Development and Capacity Building**
- Design and deliver training and resources to build capacity among psychological services staff, school teams, central departments, and families.
- Promote inclusive and culturally responsive practices grounded in Truth and Reconciliation, human rights, anti-ableism, anti-racism, and anti-oppression.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Special Education and Inclusion Department on matters related to the provision of special education programs and services.
**System and Community Engagement**
- Liaise with central and school-based staff to maintain an ongoing understanding of student, school, and community.
- Consult with school administrators and families to support the effective delivery of psychological services and resolve service-related issues.
- Liaise with outside agencies and partners (e.g., children s mental health centres, social agencies, hospitals, ECPP agencies, etc.,) regarding provision of service.
**Reporting**
- Track and monitor requests and waitlists for psychoeducational assessments to support effective resource planning.
- Prepare and present reports to senior staff, trustees, and others as required.
**Other**
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Doctoral degree in psychology and registration as a psychologist (School Psychology as declared area of competence) in the province of Ontario, with four to seven years in a supervisory position in a special education environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
